Aaron Bocanegra

Aaron Bocanegra is an artist working out of Los Angeles. His work looks to the creations of culture for material and concepts. Playing with mediums as varied as photography, video and sculpture he critically creates new visions of his world. Aaron received his BFA in fine art photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology and his MFA in Graduate Art Studies from the Art Center College of Design. In addition to his art he currently spreads his time as thin as possible between his studio, Whatartist, which specializes in photo, filmmaking and design, as well as teaching in the grad program at the Southern California Institute of Architecture and as full time faculty at the Art Institute of California: Orange County. Born in LA, but raised in the beautiful and friendly Pacific Northwest he has found some middle ground between being a small town kid and a big city boy. In his travels throughout Europe, South America and North America, a passion for travel has not only developed but solidified as an element of his work and life. This will be his first trip to Northern Canada.
